Privacy and disclosures

The tools run in your browser, there are no accounts, and what you type stays on your device. The details are below.

What happens to what you type

The tools work out their results on your own device. What you enter isn't sent to us or stored on a server.

Some tools keep your inputs in the page address, the part after the “?”, so you can bookmark or share a result. Like any web address, it's sent to our hosting provider when the page loads, saved in your browser history, and seen by anyone you send the link to. Tools are designed never to put long or private text, such as a pasted document, in the address.

What's stored on your device

To make return visits easier, the site saves a few things in your browser's local storage: the tools you pin, the tools you used recently, and drafts some tools keep for you, such as the text in the word counter. These stay on your device and aren't sent to us.

To remove them, clear this site's data in your browser settings. Tools that keep drafts also have their own button to clear them.

Our hosting provider

Like every website, this one is delivered by a hosting provider. When your browser asks for a page, the provider receives technical details such as your IP address, your browser type and the address you requested. It may keep these in logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use them to identify visitors.

Ads, analytics, affiliate links and cookies

Right now, the site shows no ads, uses no analytics, contains no affiliate links and sets no cookies. Everything a page needs, including its fonts, comes from this site, so loading a page doesn't contact any company other than our hosting provider. If any of this changes, this page will be updated first.

If you email us

If you email us, for example to suggest a tool, we use your address and message only to reply and to consider your suggestion. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your email with anyone. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Links to other sites

Tools often link to official sources and other websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this page doesn't cover.

Your rights

Because the site doesn't ask who you are, the only information we hold about you, apart from the hosting logs described above, is any email you choose to send. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Email us at the address below and we'll respond within one month.

Changes to this page

When something changes, such as switching on ads or analytics, we update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
